Nadav Sharon

Nadav Sharon holds a PhD in the history of the Jewish people in the Second Temple period (Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 2013). His research and publications focus on issues such as Jewish-non-Jewish relations, Second Temple period biblical interpretation and rewriting, and literary works such as the writings of Josephus, the books of the Maccabees and the Dead Sea Scrolls. His PhD dissertation focused on the end of the Hasmonean state and the beginning of Roman rule in Judea (67–37 BCE), and a revised version of it was published as a book by the Society of Biblical Literature in 2017.
Nadav is currently pursuing a career shift towards academic librarianship and is studying towards a Master’s degree at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. He works at the University’s Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, focusing on its Judaica collection.
